base: | glass-fabric impregnated with electric conducting plastic "PTFE-Carbon" |
busbars: | tin-plated strips of electrolyte-copper 15 mm wide |
insulation: | polyester/polyethylene compound foil, hot-sealed |
connection: | special connectors "termi-foil" or soldered connection |
manufacturing process:
THERMOTEX-Heating Foil is produced in a continuously impregnation process. The glass-fabric passes an impregnation bath with the electric conducting plastic. At this step, the characteristics of the heating foil are defined by mixing dispersions with different conductivity. After drying and sintering at a temperature of approx. 400 °C in a cupola furnace the plastic impregnation is fixed to the fabric.
The result is an electric conducting fabric, which has to be cut in the requested width.
To obtain a homogenous distribution of the flow of current, tin-plated copper strips are sewed onto the fabric. The electrical insulation is done by continuously hot-sealing with PET/PE compound foils.
Every production step is thoroughly monitored by our quality system.
